Biggar Camera Club

Welcome to our web site and thanks for dropping by.

The club are a group of people connected by an aspiration to improve our skills in the craft of photography.  We marvel at the sophistication and quality of modern camera equipment and seek to learn how to make full use of what’s available to produce better photographs.

We meet every fortnight from autumn to spring (check out our syllabus page).  We have invited speakers to share their enthusiasm for photography and to give us insights on taking better photographs; we set ourselves challenges to explore some particular aspect of photography and share our experiences; we engage in competitions to appreciate the work of other members and get some feedback on our own efforts.  We even have some fun through light-hearted competitions with other clubs.

Our range of expertise goes from beginner to highly competent (nobody would admit to being an expert).   It is always good to see new faces at our meetings – check out our contact page or come along to our next meeting, these are all held at Biggar Youth Project (see map) starting at 7.30pm.  If you are interested in improving your photography skills, it would be good to see you.

We have now started our 2018-19 season and so whatever your interest in photography we hope we can help you improve, regardless of your favourite topic and so please come along and see what we have to offer.

Our next meeting is Wednesday 17th October. It is a practical night for setting up the display panels and final mounting of prints for our Photographic Exhibition as part of the Biggar Little Festival week.

The exhibition is in the Youth Project building between 11 and 4 on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st October

Two more dates for your diaries are Wednesday 24th October when Photographer Ron Bell is coming to give a presentation titled "Scary Munroes" and on Wednesday 7th November famous photographer from Peebles Kenny Martin is coming to give a presentation title "iphoneography" Both are between 7.30 and 9.30 in the Youth Project building. As well as club members the public are most welcome to attend these two events.
